I See the Light!

fall leaves

He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will REST in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God in whom I trust. He will cover you under his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge; his fatefulness will be your shield and rampart.

Psalms 91:1,2 & 4

Summer is just about gone and fall is in the air. I can feel the change of seasons coming and I am loving it! I can also feel like I am starting a new season in life.

This morning in my quite time I was reading about our need for rest and what necessity it is in our life. Jesus often made a point of getting away to rest and spend time away from the crowds. It is essential for both our physical and spiritual health. I think this past year God was blessing me with rest so that I could grow both physically and spiritually.

I had my surgery in August and everything went great, now I have six weeks of radiation and then I am finished with my cancer treatment and ready to start making real plans to return to India. I am grateful for God’s healing power in my body.

A few weeks ago, I had a wonderful opportunity to share about Grace English School at my church’s World Mission Coffee. It was very humbling to see the response and interaction as I shared about the school and its growth with everyone.

Remember the teacher I told you about in the last newsletter? Little Princy fell and broke several bones in her shoulder. We are praising God that He has healed her shoulder and she is back playing and enjoying life. Her father Raju would like to thank all of you who prayed for her healing.

The new chapel is almost all complete except for the painting. We will paint the inside, but wait until next spring, when we hope to paint all the interior and exterior of the buildings at one time. But that has not stopped them from using it to celebrate the teachers and staff on National Teachers day and using it for their morning devotion time.

We were thrilled to receive word that the school finally got our official identification number with the country of India. We have been registered as a school for a year, but just received our ID number called a UDISE code. This makes us feel very official!

I will spend the remainder of this year resting from radiation, having some final Dr visits and hopefully visiting family and friends before heading back to India the first part of 2020.

After almost a year of Doctor visits, chemotherapy and surgery, I am excited to see what the Lord has planned for my future and the future of the school. I am deeply grateful for all of you! Your prayers have upheld and encourage me and I see "the light at the end of the tunnel."

1. God is continuing to heal my body and restore me to health.

2. Grace English School has run smoothly this year and our two new teachers have adjusted well with our students and staff.

3. For the new people who have prayed and supported me these many months of my journey to better health.

4. We have been blessed to provide this beautiful chapel, thanks to all of you who have so generously supported this ministry with finances and prayer.

5. We finally got our UDISE code after several visit to the state offices on the part of our property manager Sanu.

6. For the wonderful hospitality of dear friends who have opened their home to me for the next 6 weeks of radiation, so that I am closer to the hospital where I go for treatment. This will save me from an hour’s drive each day into town.

1. For the students and teachers, the next few months before the end of the school year. Our schools in India start the school year in January.

2. For my strength to stay strong during radiation treatments the next six week.

3. As I make plans to return to India.

4. For my future finical needs not only here, but when I return to India.
