A Season of Thankfulness

You satisfy my every desire with good things. You’ve supercharged

my life so that I soar again like a flying eagle in the sky!

Psalm 103:5

November has arrived and with it a season of thankfulness. I have so much to be thankful for this year. This year, as I have walked through this cancer journey, I felt God’s healing hand all the way. He has blessed me with great Doctors and the best support team anyone could ask for. I am so thankful to say, I have not had any severe side effects from any of my treatments.

November also means that I am almost finished with my cancer treatments! Thankful again! With only a few weeks of treatments left, I am looking forward to spending time with family in Texas and here at home. I have also start making plans for my return trip to India.

This week I read a devotion by Christine Caine, she shared how even amid trails and challenges we can soar. Eagles glide trusting the wind to lift them, and because they don’t rely on their own strength, distance and duration is never a problem. I have learned this year that when I relied on the Holy Spirit, His strength got me through many months of treatments. A year ago, I was not sure I would have the endurance to go through all of it, but I have discovered His strength has never failed me and I have been able to go the distance!!!

Another big area of thankfulness has been this past month, were I have been so blessed to live with some

awesome friends from my church here in Lodi. They’ve opened their beautiful home to me, and I deeply enjoy my quiet time with views of the river. I do not have to make the hour-long trip to the hospital each day for radiation treatments and it has been a time of rest and renewing of strength.

Grace English School is thriving and busy getting ready to finish up the school year in December. We have finished the chapel (except for painting it) and the new bathrooms for our students. The staff and students love being able to use our new facilities.

We want to thank everyone who has been a part of this building project.

Oct 20th First Baptist Church of Wickford hosted a wonderful evening of music as a fundraiser for Grace English School. We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended and to Elaine Alexander and her entire team that put this amazing community event together. The children and staff of the school and our LTH board are so thankful for your donation, your prayers, and kindness extended towards us.

  • I am finishing my cancer treatment strong

  • The chapel/multi-purpose room is finished at the school

  • Continued support of our school

  • All the financial and prayer support from everyone this past year

  • Please pray for the unrest in Dimapur, Nagaland. We need to go to Dimapur on a regular basis for supplies and banking. Many days the town will be shut down because of political unrest and this makes the daily chores for our staff very challenging

  • For me as I make plans to return to India the first of next year

  • For the continued support of Grace English School as we look forward to starting another new school year in 2020

  • For my continued support especially as I get ready to return to India and the expenses of travel and living there.
