Time flies when you're having fun!

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.”

Isaiah 26:3

Greetings from Assam from Donna Bennet and I! We cannot believe our month here is over. It was a long 3-day journey to get here and will be the same getting back. But all the fuss is worth it when you see the smiling faces of the staff and children.

By the time you read this I will be home in California. But let me give you a quick re-cap of our time. This was Donna's second time traveling with me and she has fallen in love with our little village and our school. We were thrilled to be united with friends, our host family Sanu and Senti, staff and the children of the school. Everyone is extremely excited to get back to ministry of teaching and reaching the most vulnerable children of our village. We were able to spend time in the classrooms working directly with the children and had the great joy of participating in sports week. It brings me such delight to see the students having so much fun. I was also able to pray over the children as they took their final exams. I have every confidence they will do very well just as they have in the past.

Sanu our property manager, and Raju our headmaster and I interviewed and hired a new teacher to teach in our nursery, beginning April 4th when our new school year begins. She is honored to be working for our school as it has such a good reputation in the community, which we owe ALL to the LORD!

One of the many highlights of our trip, was being able to attend the baptism of a wonderful husband and wife who had converted from Muslim to Christianity.

The next week we attended a dedication of a new church building. It was great to see the whole community come to the service. Many of the unsaved neighbors came to see what was going on. As a branch of the church, they also run an orphanage and adoption agency. It was exciting to see and hear all that God is doing in this town.

Then in our final week, Donna, Senti and I went to Kolkata for a few days of girl time. We wanted to give our hostess, Senti, some pampering for all she does to care for us while in her home. Senti had never been on a plane or been to such a big city like Kolkatta. We had a fun day of shopping and spoiling her! We also had a delightful lunch with Jaya and Bopi at an Indian Barbeque restaurant. Jaya and Bopi help run a ministry called Connexions. They are doing an amazing work among the women who live in the slums of Kolkata (see pic). They produce beautiful, blankets, Kimonos, purses, and bags all made from reconditioned cotton sarees. They currently have sixty women working from home doing this handywork and a good percentage of them are the sole support for their families.

Lastly the day before we left, we spent it with our dear friends Pastor Raman and Asha from Nepal, I have personally been supporting his ministry for over 15 years. They shared about how God is moving so many souls into a loving relationship with their Savior. It was so encouraging to hear all that God is doing in Nepal.

Tuesday, we had our final school staff meeting, of course followed by a small party. We left with our hearts full knowing the staff’s spirits are high and eager to keep ministering to these remarkable children.

I had the joy of speaking at our Headmaster Raju’s church on our last Sunday. It is always a wonderful time of fellowship over lunch with the church staff.

The month flew by, and I already miss them all and pray that I can return in the fall.

1. Everything went great as we travel both to and from India.

2. New School year started April 4th.

3. We are blessed with a wonderful staff that love and care for each of our students.

4. That God continues to supply our needs at the school, thanks to each one of you who pray and support us financially.

1. For our staff and students as we start our new school year.

2. For our new teacher Rina to adjusts to her new teaching position.

3. As we start to make plans for a fundraiser to build more classrooms.

4. For Sanu as he works with the Assam Education Board for our new certification for six, seven, and eighth grades.

5. For me as I seek God’s direction regarding my next return to India.
